Occupational safety and health protection

Occupational health and safety is an important issue that Acter pays great attention to. By stipulating environmental, health and safety (EHS) policy; reviewing internal governance rules and operating procedures; and implementing inspection, check and preventive measures, Acter ensures our compliance with relevant laws and regulations and assures the protection of our employees’ health and safety. To effectively prevent the occurrence of occupational disasters, we hold regular meetings on a quarter basis to discuss and plan safety and health related matters.

Safety rules

Stipulate management rules and operating procedures in compliance with the management requirements of ISO 45001.

Check and inspection

Check workplace operations and fire-fighting equipment on an irregular basis according to EHS supervisory and measurement procedures.

Risk assessment

Regularly identify safety risks in workplace in accordance with hazard identification and risk assessment management procedures; determine the risk level thereof in accordance with severity, probability and exposure; and propose improvement measures for high-risk factors in order to turn them into low-risk factors.

Continuous improvements

With respect to abnormity or deficiency, propose an improvement schedule and continuously track the performance thereof until all improvements are made. Post health and safety relevant information at obvious spots in workplace.

Health Care and Prevention

 

To optimize the corporate employee health management system, Acter provides our employees with a free annual health check, having their health status regularly tracked and checked by a dedicated department. The checkup includes comprehensive screening items focused on the prevention of the “three highs” (high blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol), obesity, and chronic diseases. We also hold provisional health check sessions that enable employees to talk about their health status with professional physicians and to lower related risks in advance.
 

In the meantime, our occupational health nurses also pay great attention to employees’ health status not only to identify and better manage employees with high health risks, but also to provide employees with personal health advice, supporting both health care and early prevention. Furthermore, we arrange on-site consultations with occupational health specialists on an as-needed basis, allowing employees to have in-depth discussions about their health and take proactive actions at an early stage. Through these initiatives, we aim to build a workplace where well-being and sustainability go hand in hand.

Health facilitation

Apart from stipulating labor-related safety and health rules, Acter also holds regular safety and health training and drills not only to enhance employees’ ability to identify work hazards and respond to them, but also to ensure the effective implementation of emergency response plans. With respect to factors that can affect employees’ health or safety in the workplace, the Company also arranges cleaning, disinfection, work environment testing and inspection on a regular basis in order to provide employees with a safe and comfortable work environment.
